Mickey: Using Throttlestop without the undervolting function

Hello,
I used to use throttlestop to undervolt my laptop, but a recent bios update has killed that option (undervolt no longer works).
Given that other than undervolting the laptop, I did not use it for any other function, is there any point in leaving throttlestop on?
Or are there other functions running in the background which aid my computer that are "on" by default and am unaware of?
