Currently I'm running an i7-6700 on a Gigabyte B250M motherboard. I have been using my PC to transcode Linux ISOs from h264 to h265 but while the GPU does the heavy lifting for encoding the CPU does the decoding in Handbrake and my CPU is pegged at 100%. I also do web development and some gaming, but I'm running a FirePro W7000, so the CPU isn't a bottleneck here although I do want to buy a new GPU when things go back to normal although it might take a while.
