Hi, I have a cheap "500W" PSU that died during a light load of ~100W. The PC was shut down just like pushing an off switch, without noise or smell. The mainboard LED (+5VSB) was on but the PC didn't start again. I suspected the on/off button so I tested with the reset button as on/off but nothing. All the other parts in the PC are tested and working with another PSU or PC. So after some time I opened the PSU and visually inspected the internals. There is no sign of a burn, so I have to ask...
