Mickey: Printer with affordable ink refills for little old lady?

I have a neighbor/friend who is a little old lady who just wants to buy a printer that won't require a second mortgage for ink refills. A friend of mine who at least was big in to graphics couldn't give me a straight answer; she's not going to use medical equipment and large ink tanks. She is willing to go on Newegg and wait three or four days if a refill (after shipping) saves her like $5.

She's got a laptop with 4GB of RAM that absolutely refuses to accept literally anything I could get...
