An Acer Aspire 5742 came in for repair yesterday with a Windows black screen - repair or start normally. Whichever option is chosen, the laptop turns off. I can get into the BIOS but that's about it and even at the BIOS it will turn off eventually. With the HDD removed, the laptop doesn't shutdown, but it will shutdown with only a pendrive connected.
