Mickey: Is it possible for a damaged HDMI cable input lower quality audio ?

Hello

As the title says , i´m wondering

Would this be possible to happen ? like lower quality / lower audio overall ?

I had to swap my old cable ( had artifacts with 4k 60hz )

This one has a 2.0 version ( fixed the artifacts )

But is it possible for such thing to happen ? It may be placebo i guess , but do cables either work or don´t ? ( regarding audio )
