Mickey: Is it posible to Wipe and format an IDE that has stuff on it ,on a PS2?

I have two IDE drives which have stuff on.I have bought a IDE to Sata docking station the IDE showed up as a Mass store-ridge with NO MEDIA. I have just bought a PS2 and was wondering i can format on the PS2 is that posible?I was going to bye a Sata Network Adapter on Ali EXPRESS but the order was cancelledThat was the cheapest one i could get they are so expensive one on Amazon was £34Someone on here said it was posible
