Mickey: Can anyone give me which model of the PS2 should I go for in terms of laser reliability

Which PS2 model should I define go for in terms of reliability. As far as fat models go, I heard the 3900x series is the one to go for since it’s the most reliable and robust one. But for the slim models alone, I believe I heard 7900x is the only slim to recommend since someone mentioned that it’s the only slim model that doesn’t scratch discs.
